Rt Hon. The Viscount Craigavon, 1923

BELUM.U617

Sir James Craig was Northern Ireland’s first Prime Minister. The son of a self-made whiskey distilling millionaire, his views of Ireland, Britain and the Empire were forged during his service in the British Army during the Boer War in South Africa. He was the organising force behind the face of Carson and the strategic mind behind the successful establishment of the Northern Irish state. He is remembered as its founding father. BELUM.U617
